Welcome

Welcome to the Parish of Boxmoor’s website.

We are the Church of England in Boxmoor which has a thriving and inclusive fellowship of some 250 members from all ages and backgrounds with a lively programme of events and groups. We hope that we will have the chance to welcome you in person to our church before too long.

Jesus says, “I came that you might have life, and have it abundantly.”  St John 10: 10

Although the pandemic has not ended we are all learning to live with Covid-19 in our Community. Services are offered in-person in all our Churches, and our Parish Eucharist is Live-Streamed each Sunday morning for those unable to join in person. We are doing all that we can to make our worship of almighty God joyful, prayerful, enriching, full of encounter, and safe.

Our Choir are back singing at Evensong and special services; our Junior Church is back every week on Sundays and with Tiny Tots each Tuesday (during term-time); our adult clubs are up and running. Come and join us!

  • We ask that you are mindful of others …
    • wear a mask… if that makes you more comfortable.
    • be respectful of people’s personal space.
    • sanitise hands when entering or exiting our churches.
    • receive Communion in one (The Body of Christ) or both kinds as you feel comfortable.

Should you not be able to join us in person for worship, our Parish Eucharist (any other notable services) is live-streamed each week and is joinable below.

We are currently Live-Streaming our Parish Eucharist. Sadly, our connection is a little unstable. If it drops-out we will upload a recording of that service as soon as possible after.

Please note we are not Streaming our All Age Service whilst we obtain permission for children to be identified.

Safeguarding

To promote a safe culture in all 3 of our churches, we have safeguarding practices in place. We promote the welfare of children, young people and adults and work towards preventing abuse from occurring, protecting those at risk and respond well to those who have been abused. We will offer support to those who may be at risk to others whilst taking steps to reduce such risks.

To find out more about our safeguarding policy and to find contact details of our Parish Safeguarding Officer as well as local authorities, please visit our Safeguarding page.

Baptisms, Weddings & Funerals

All who live in the Parish or have a particular connection with St John’s, St Stephen’s, or St Francis Church are welcome to come for Baptisms, Confirmations, Weddings and Funerals here. These are important life moments and as a Church we seek to support and help you in preparing for these services and to explain what each entails. If you’d like to enquire about having such a service at St John’s the best place to start is by getting in touch with the Vicar or to contact the Parish Office.
