To respond to safeguarding concerns, the National Safeguarding Team, NST, is working to complete the capacity and expertise of the Parish, diocese and other Church of England institutions.
To promote a safe culture in all 3 of our churches, we have safeguarding practices in place. We promote the welfare of children, young people and adults and work towards preventing abuse from occurring, protecting those at risk and respond well to those who have been abused. We will offer support to those who may be at risk to others whilst taking steps to reduce such risks.
The Church of England affirms the ‘Whole Church’ approach to safeguarding. This approach encompasses a commitment to consistent policy and practice across all Church bodies, Church Officers and that everyone associated with the Church, who comes into contact with children, young people and adults, has a role to play.
The Parish of Boxmoor will take appropriate steps to maintain a safer environment for all and to practice fully and positively Christ’s Ministry towards children, young people and adults; to respond sensitively and compassionately to their needs in order to help keep them safe from harm.
